Creativity: the Cause of Academic Innovation

Every day, everyone uses creativity to overcome obstacles and solve intricate problems. Creativity is defined as the use of imagination or original ideas. We can apply this to our lives just to get through a day. Creativity can also be used in the educational world. Academic innovation is a result from teachers and students thinking creatively to come up with new ways to learn and/or study. For example, teachers can find a new way to teach an assignment, other than just lecturing, to get the students more involved and eager to learn.
Here, at the University of North Florida, professors and students are constantly looking for new ways to make learning new and livelier. UNF requires all student-athletes to acquire a certain number of hours of study hall each week. This is very innovated due to the fact that all student-athletes can work together to ensure they are getting all of their assignments done in their entirety and on time. Another innovative advancement UNF has is studying abroad. Studying abroad is when college students can travel to another country of their choice for a semester and attend school there. This allows students to embrace other cultures and see how foreigners learn/study. The students can then bring their new-found information back to the United States and have the ability to share it with others. Creative thinking is the foremost cause of academic innovation. The education world will constantly change with the help of academic innovation and creativity.
