The Art of Creativity

Creativity is typically associated with artists, musicians or human geniuses. That is the case, but there is so much more to being creative than we think. Have you ever finished a puzzle? Changed a flat tire on a car? Fixed a leaking faucet? Changed your oil in your car? Wrote a letter? The list goes on and on forever, but the point is that we as humans are creative everyday whether we like it or not. Everyday, humans are faced with certain tasks or faced to solve a problem. If we put our minds to it, we are usually able to accomplish the task. This is using our brains to be creative. Without creativity, we wouldn't have electricity, money, politics, the economy, doctors, lawyers and more. We can't go through a day without using or seeing an invention that someone created using their creativity. Creativity is everything to humans because without it, there would be nothing.
I use creativity everyday at my job. I am a fishing guide in Jacksonville and I have to face many different tasks and problems within my job. If my motor doesn't start when I am out on the water, It is my job to use my creativity to try to get the motor started. For example, I was out on the water the other day and my motor wouldn't start. I started scratching my head and realized that I did some rewiring the other day and forgot to tighten the connections to my cranking battery. I did just that and the motor started. If I wouldn't have used my brain to be creative, then I would have been stranded out on the water until someone found me. I also have to be creative with my job to keep me clients happy. No two clients are the same so what makes someone happy doesn't always please the other. Day in and day out, I am constantly thinking of what I can do better or different than what I did before to make my customers happy an put them on fish. There is nothing better than seeing a happy customer at the end of a long fishing day.
I am thankful for creativity because without it, I wouldn't be able to do what I love.
