Everyday Creativity and College

Everyday creativity and academic innovation are important in college. Everyday creativity and academic innovation are important in college because they drive our academic careers foreword. Without innovation, teaching would never change, and thus our society wouldn't change. To avoid this, teachers can foster and demonstrate everyday creativity inside and outside of the classroom by engaging with the students on a more personal level. Most students need a guiding hand in their academic lives, and personal interaction strengthens that hand. Students should also take some personal responsibility to cultivate everyday creativity and academic innovation on their own. Students can demonstrate academic innovation inside and outside the classroom by finding better ways to do their work and discovering more efficient study habits. Teachers and students participating in academic innovation on college campuses can yield some positive results. The possible consequences of academic innovation on college campuses are a better learning experience and a higher graduation rate. An example of academic innovation is how there are tutors for every subject available most of the day to help students. Another example of academic innovation is the myWings portal, where students have all the information they could ever need about their college at their fingertips. They can check class times, their professor’s office hours, their grades, find tutoring, check their payments, and much more. An additional example of academic innovation is the library at UNF. Before and during finals week, the library changes its schedule to be open 24 hours. This is great for the students, since it allows them to bring a mattress, do a long study session, go to bed, then wake up and continue studying, giving them the most study time possible before a test.
