Throughout everyone's academic career, they've been told by any type of teacher or professor to be more creative. Whether that be during writing, music, or art, we all knew how important it was to think creatively and create a piece of art that we call original and ours. I personally have been in this situation being told to be more creative when I spent most of my High School career being in the Marching Band and playing in the Front Ensemble on Marimba.

During my senior year, I was told I would have to write a new warm-up for the drumline to practice next year. While it was extremely stressful that I had to create a song for the drumline that not only warmed people up but could also be played as a cadence at a football game in case they didn't warm up beforehand. After watching multiple videos of different warm-ups and songs played by drumlines around the world, I ended up writing what I feel is one of the best sounding and fun warm-ups for incoming students coming to take my spot. That exercise that my director gave me made me truly understand how difficult and long it takes to write a warm-up, and made me realize how creative I truly had to be if I wanted to keep making music and has pushed to improving myself creatively and musically. Another few examples of creativity in a workplace could be creating designs for a car company, creating commercials, animating a TV show or movie, or even coming up with new ways to teach students to help them get interested in their education. Overall people should be as creative as they want, but the more creative, the better! The possibilities with a creative mind are endless and with a wide variety of things that the human mind can create, you could be the next Bill Gates, developing a computer program in your garage and to help make computer usage for the whole family easy. Or with creativity, you could be the next Grant Kirkhope (One of my Favorite Composers) and creating music that not only sticks to people’s heads at the moment but music that sticks to people 20 years later. The point is, Creativity pushed people to the moon, computers in your pockets, and even printable replacement limbs. Creativity isn't just important for education but is important to further the human race altogether. But this is just my opinion, tell me your stories where you needed to get creative or give up and tell me how important you think creativity is.
